I’ve captured a lot of butterflies for presentation here, but never a butterfly in the rain. It started raining today, and I walked out on our covered balcony to watch the Columbia River in the rain, and this gorgeous Western Tiger Swallowtail caught my eye. She was holding on for dear life as the rain came down. It was beautiful in a completely new way.

Aunt Jane, she did. The next morning, when I went out on the balcony, she was lying upside down on the railing. So I nudged her and she fluttered, eventually working her way off the railing and flew away. 🙂
