
The view from our balcony is constantly changing. On this night, the sky above the Columbia River was layered. The sun was going down beneath it all, just off to the right of the scene, and where the light fell, the edges turned pink, lavender, and peach. Near the horizon, the clouds broke open just enough to let the gold through.
