Cannon Beach Is A Dream

Cannon Beach, Oregon, ranks among the most beautiful beaches we’ve ever visited. When we walked down the hill to the view you see above, Racquel said, “This isn’t real.” It looks like something conjured up in CGI. It feels like a dream, and one you don’t want to wake up from. Ever.

I’d put Tamariu, Spain on our list of best beaches. And I’ve always said that Manly Beach, New South Wales, Australia, is the most beautiful beach and beach town I’ve ever visited. This has similar features, only deeper, taller, and more vast. And the town of Cannon Beach? It feels like a movie set.

My only regret from our day there is that I accidentally left my “good camera” at home. These shots are from my iPhone 17 Pro. Oh, and we were so engrossed in our conversations at a local coffee shop and wine bar that we got to dinner late. And then we were so engrossed in the dinner conversation that we missed the peak color of what must have been a glorious sunset. That only makes me want to visit again sooner rather than later. It’s only 90 minutes from our home.

Neither words nor photos do this place justice.

Rocky shoreline with large sea stacks rising from blue ocean, forested hills in the distance under a partly cloudy sky.
