When I see this American West Paddle Wheeler cross in through our balcony view, it takes me back in time. I have never lived near a river that hosts these ships. I’ve seen them on the Mississippi, in New Orleans, and in old movies. I’ve read stories about them. But they’ve never been a part of my living experience. So, I thought a digital wet plate treatment for these shots would set the right mood.

Love them. Have been on short rides. Here in Charleston along with some small or larger sternwheelers—we have regattas celebrating the rivers, the towns, and the boats.
