The interstate bridge near the terminal 1 construction site

Just out of frame to the left is the Terminal 1 construction site. According to the Port Of Vancouver, Terminal 1 serves as “a gateway to Washington state and a vibrant urban waterfront.” Port of Vancouver USA’s Terminal 1 comprises commercial, residential, and civic development. It welcomes the public to the Columbia River banks and “recalls the region that inspired settlers centuries ago.”

We’ve been here six months now, and have fallen in love with Vancouver, Washington. And for the first five of those months, when asked if we were going to stay in Vancouver, we’d answer, “We need to get through a winter first.” This has changed. We’ve decided to stay, regardless of what winter brings.

We just love the “feel” of this place. Great food, beautiful vistas, and kind humans. And the downtown area is growing. The Main Street Promise project was just officially completed earlier this month. And the Terminal 1 construction project will make this place even more vibrant.

We live here.
