I was not trying to challenge myself by attempting to capture the Columbia River Interstate Bridge handheld before the sun came up. I simply forgot to bring my tripod. And while I was standing on an overlook just a couple of hundred meters from our apartment, I decided not to go back and get it. Roll with it, I thought. So, I kept the f-stop low to shorten the exposure time, hoping I could hold the camera still enough while precariously perched on the round railing to avoid blurring the bridge.
The downside is that I could not hold the shutter open long enough to capture more of the car lights as they crossed the bridge. So, the intensity of the lights is missing. I will not forget the tripod next time.
