I walked to the apex of the Interstate Bridge to capture Mount Hood at dusk last night. It was a perfectly clear day. My goal was to capture Mount Hood in the bluish-purple arc of Earth’s shadow on the atmosphere. It’s opposite the sun at every clear sunrise and sunset. And it’s not rare. So I walked along the pedestrian path, pointed the camera away from the setting sun, and hoped for the best. The photo above is exactly what I expected to find.
